Swimming

In   December    we  all  got  a  letter   to   know  if  we   wanted  to  go  swimming.   Most  of    us  wanted  to  go.On   our  first  Wednesday a  bus  came  to  collect  us.We  were  all  very  excited.  We   were  going  to  Mount  St. Josephs   in  Roscrea. We  had    four  teachers. Their  names  were  Yvonne,  Seamus,  Tom  and  Nick.  Tom  was  teaching   the  girls.  Seamus   was   teaching    the  boys.  Yvonne    was  teaching   the  improvers. .In  swimming  we  all  learned  how  to  swim.On    our  last  week  we  all   got   a  certificate   and  it  showed   our  names  on  it. That      was  the  end   of    our  eight    weeks.  And   we  all  had   an  excellent   time.
 
 

              The    Hurling    Blitz

There   was  four  teams  in a hurling  blitz .  The  teams  were
Cooldery,Clareen,Dromakeenan  and killeen. It  was  held  in  Shinrone.
 We  went  by  a  bus. There  were  five on  a  team  and  four  subs.
Mr.Lupton  came  with  us. It  was  indoor  hurling  and  we  had  to
use  rubber  hurls. We  played  Clareen  first  and  they  beat  us.
The  score  was   Coolderry  -5   Clareen   - 9. Then  we  played  killeen
And  we  beat  them  and  the  score  was  Cooldery  -7     killeen  -  4     Then  we  played  Dromakeen  and  they  beat  us. The  score  was  Cooldery  -4 and  Dromakeen  -6. We  got  hurling  socks  - they  were  blue  and  white. We  got  sweets  when  it  was  over. Then  we  went  back  to  school.
 
 
 

Donel       Franks  and   Coaching

Donal  Franks  has  started  hurling  coaching in  our  school. All   the  classes  are  involved.
There    are    22   people    in   our   group  .   We   go  training  every   Friday  . We    learrn   how  to  rise  the   ball  .  We  learn  new  skills  each  day.We  are  put   in  two  teams   when  we   play  a  match.He  watches  us  and  points  out  our  mistakes.We  dribble  the  ball  around  the  cones  and  then  we  take  up  our  position  again.We  form  a  circle  and  he  throws  in  the  ball  and  we  hand  pass  it  back  to  him.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

                     I rith Seachtain na Gaeilge bhí tráth  na  gceist againn i halla   na scoile.Bhí ceathrar ar gach
                     foireann   agus  bhí   deich    foireann-páistí ó rang a trí, a ceathair, a cúig agus a sé.Bhí  daichead
                     ceist ann ar fad.Bhronn an príomhoida punt ar na buaiteoiri uile.
                     Bhaineamar an taitneamh as an ócáid agus thug sé deis  dúinn an Ghaeilge  a úsáid  taobh
                     amuigh den rang. Cé go raibh sé i nGailge cheap gach duine go raibh an ócáid fiúntach agus
                     torthúil.
 
 

                     Lá le Pádraig 

I rith Seachtain na Gaeilge rinneamar cártaí i gcomhair Lá le Pádraig. Chuireamar na cártaí agus
seamróga dár ngaolta thar lear.
