Very large costs have been incurred in the course of this campaign, especially because of High and Supreme Court actions and the July 99 public oral hearing before the Irish Planning Board. The Group is most grateful for the enormous generosity of people all over Ireland and abroad who have supported us up to now. Once, again, we are asking for your support.
In order to meet our outstanding costs as well as bringing the action to a successful conclusion, we have undertaken an unusual venture. An acre of ground, near Mullaghmore, has been donated to the Burren Action Group who have, in turn, established a separate, non-profit making company, THE BURREN ACRE COMPANY LTD., which is now the registered owner of the land. The Group invites you to demonstrate your continued support by belonging to this company and to the commemorative acre.
Your contribution - £50/$100 - will entitle you to registration as a member of The Burren Acre Company Ltd., and to a symbolic share certificate for one square yard of the acre.
The Symbolic Share Certificate will be an original photograph by Ilsa Thielen, the famous Burren photographer.
