Form n' Fusion |
![]() What is Form & Fusion and what is it
about? – Form & Fusion is a unique fashion show that is held every
year and organised and funded by Coca-Cola. All the costumes are made out
of alternative and waste materials. The idea is that a group of no more
than six students work as a team to research design and construct a wild,
wonderful and imaginative costume.
What we did to start off – first of all we had to come up with designs for our costumes and some possible materials that we could use. After that we had to collect everything and anything that we could use in the construction of our costumes. The concepts came to us as we went along and after that most of it started to come together for us. Since there are 16 of us we were split up into 3 groups and had to make a costume in each group. We then decided on who would be modelling the costumes, as it is important to do that in the start to get the costume measurements. ![]() going over the top or mad. The idea was that first she comes out in a beautiful dress and at the end of the catwalk she takes off the dress to reveal one that is short, skimpy and wild! In-group 2 the model was Jennifer Mc Cann and her costume was based on a Christmas theme. It is made out of Christmas cards and tinsel to make up the Christmas spirit (Jennifer). In-group 3 the model was Katriona Mc Cann and the theme behind hers is the sea. The colours and materials used are blues, greens and a lot The heats took place be on February the 23rd in St Mary’s College in Galway. There was over 30 other schools performing there that day including our own but there was over 1000 entries that took part in the Form n’ Fusion competition all over the country. Unfortunately even though everyone performed and looked great that day no one from Clonaslee got through to the finals but Group 3 was given an accommodation for their performance which is a great achievement because only 120 entries received accommodations out of 1000 schools that took part and only 30 schools or costumes went through to the Grand Finale. Never the less everyone who took part and went along for support enjoyed the day immensely. But all our hard work would not have been possible without the help from our teachers Ms Calt and Ms Gallagher and on behalf of my TY class I would like to say a special thank you to them for everything. ![]() |
