Very good site. Includes policy documents, Northern Ireland election
results, newsletter.
- Fianna Fail Heavy
on graphics but light on content. List of objectives, welcome
from Party Leader etc. Little information and poorly designed.
- Fine Gael Aims, documents, brief history of the party etc. Documents include the Programme for Government. Lists of TDs (Members of the Dáil or Parliament of Ireland). Links to European Parliament etc.
- Green Party Aims, elected representatives etc.
- The Labour Party This is a new site which still needs a good deal of work.
- Sinn Féin A well presented site with a good deal of information on the party and its aims.
- Ulster Unionist Party Contains
policy documents and news clippings.

- Communist Party of the USA Information, links, on-line texts. A well presented site.
Democratic National Committee Web site of the US Democratic Party.
- A Democrat's Source Page A resource for supporters of the US Democratic Party. It has excellent links to other democratic and 'liberal' sites, as well as exposés of Republican and right-wing positions.
- The Huffines's Political Page Full of links to Democratic Party resources, including Hillary Rodham's personal homepage. There is also a great deal of information on the workings of the US government, and texts of historic documents and speeches. Among these latter are the Magna Carta, The US Bill of Rights, The US Constitution, The US Declaration of Independence, speeches by Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, and the inaugral addresses of all US presidents!

An excellent site for ecology links, and part of the Institute for Global Communications' network. This is a subscription service, which includes Peacenet, Conflictnet, LaborNet, and WomensNet, and is progressive in approach and outlook. Visit! You may want to subscribe.

to green resources (and animal rights).
- Environment Resources Network Australian government environmental information.
- Friends of the Earth (UK) Good information on UK environmental activism.
- Gaia Forest Archives Although the focus of this site is on saving the Papua New Guinea rainforests, the site's maintainers, Ecological Enterprises, have set out to "bear witness to what is happening to biodiversity worldwide under the guise of development."
- Global Change Master Directory NASA web searcher. Comprehensive source of information on earth science, environmental issues, the biosphere, climate and global change. Links galore.
- Greenpeace From Amsterdam. Heavy on graphics. Informative.
- The Ecology Channell The objective of The Ecology Channel is to provide impartial, unbiased, multi-perspective environmenal information to as broad an audience as possible. Heavy on graphics.
- The Millennium Institute You will find here '... frightening yet empowering information on the state of the world; ... computer simulation tools for exploring alternative strategies for sustainable development; and ... visions and plans for using Millennium celebrations to accelerate the turn of humanity towards a sustainable future for Earth'.
- Rainforest Action Network (USA) Good links and information on activity to save the rainforests. Heavy on graphics.
- Stop Nuclear Tests This is a laudable, though somewhat amatuerish, Japanese effort. However, the site offers little more than an opportunity to add your name to an electronic chain letter.
- Surinam Rainforests This contains excellent information on the rainforests of Surinam, as well as on the indigenous peoples of the forest, and on Surinam itself. It would be of most interest to persons well versed in the earth sciences. There are also lots of pictutes to ftp or to view on the browser. It is the work of a Dutch biologist, Marco Bleeker.
- United Nations Environment Programme Plenty of good documentation on UN Conventions etc.
- Uranium Institute This claims to be the "only independent, non-governmental, global organisation to offer a forum for research and debate on economic, technical and political issues affecting the peaceful use of nuclear energy."

- Femina Electronic magazine covering women's activity in business, computers, culture, education, the family, feminism, politics, etc.
- Feminist Activist Resources Connecting feminist activists to resources on the net.
- Kathy's Essential Information on Abuse, Assault, Rape, and Domestic Violence
Advice and links. Excellent site. Good fast graphics.
- Women's Issues and Resources Provided by Netlink, this is a comprehensive list of links to women's resources.
- Women's Resources on the Internet Empowering women with technology. Slow graphics. Good links.

- Black Information Network (USA) Heavy on graphics and slow connection. I gave up.
- Charter 88 Charter 88 aims at a complete renewal of British democracy.
- Human Rights Web A comprehensive primer on human rights.
- Statewatch A UK organisation which monitors the state and civil liberties. Contains a database for civil liberties in the UK and Europe, with 20,000 entries, including news, features, texts of resolutions and agreements, parliamentary debates etc.

- Electronic Frontier Foundation (USA) The EFF proclaims its mission to be that of a non-profit civil liberties organisation working in the public interest to protect privacy, free expression, and access to information and resources online.
- Centre for Democracy and Technology (USA) Another organisation in the a non-profit mould, dedicated to advising the public on policies which advance constitutional civil liberties and democratic values, in computer communications and technology.

- Irish Northern Aid Committee Gopher site. Useful collection of documents, but difficult to guess the relevance or usefulness of any without loading them down.
- Troops Out Movement Homepage of the British group. Information on the movement, magazine, links.
- Irish Prisoner of War Page A page devoted to Irish political prisoners
. Very informative with background to the Irish conflict (from a republican perspective), prison writings, newsletters, events.

- Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Lenninist) Information, documents, links. In English and French.
- Communist Party of the USA Information, links, on-line texts. A well presented site.
- Living Marxism Online (UK) This is the magazine of the Revolutionary Communist Party. It attempts to develop political debate in the post cold war era. A well presented site, it provides information, search facilities, links, discussions, and both current and back issues of the magazine. Irish affairs are given good coverage.

- Regards Net Journal of the French Communist Party. In French. See also 'L'Internet vu par Regards' on this site for many links to French marxist (and not just French or marxist) resources. The Irish Law List is an e-mail discussion list on Irish and Northern Irish law, which currently has a membership of over 300 worldwide.This has extensive links to documents, (including the text of the Irish Constitution) and search facilities.
- UCD Guide to Irish Political Resources Its all here, by courtesy of the Political Science Department at University College Dublin, and is not to be missed by anyone interested in Irish politics. It is very comprehensive and includes links to political science departments in Irish universities, other political science resources and professional bodies, political parties in Ireland, Irish and foreign groups active in Irish politics, documents, government departments and agencies in Northern Ireland (not in the South because they don't exist yet!), election results from Northern Ireland and the UK (ditto), and so on apparently ad infinitum.

- CIA Publications There is a mine of information here, and not just on intelligence matters, but also on countries, governments, and economic statistics. There is even a search engine.
- National Criminal Justice Reference Service's Justice Information Center (USA) Excellent resources in US criminal justice, including statistics, full-text reports, and links to other criminal justice sites on the web.
- Dr. Cecil Greek's Criminal Justice Page Another excellent source for criminal justice links. This is a long page which has to be seen to be believed.
- USDA Economic Research Service Hosted by the US Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service (USDA ERS). This site provides ' ... economic and other social science information and analysis for public and private decisions on agriculture, food, natural resources, and rural America'.
- US Department of Education This site is packed with information on educational matters, including statistics, and many reports and publications on-line.
- US Department of Labour I had the feeling, somehow, that this site is more about the Department than it is about labour.
- Department of State (USA) The official internet site for US foreign policy information.
- ElectionLine A collaboration of Newsweek, The Washington Post, and ABC News, this site is very extensive resource for coverage of this year's local, state, and federal elections in the USA.
- Fedworld Graphics intensive,
but wide database available.
- FindLaw This is a well-organized starting point for law resources on the net. Full of interesting looking links to US and international resources.
- Florida Government Information Locator Service Administered by the Florida Department of State. A good search site.
- GPO Access US Federal Government information. By accessing the databases directly or going through one of the free public access gateways, you can do a WAIS search of such sources as the Congressional Record, the Federal Register, congressional bills, and even economic indicators.

Citizen's Guide to Internet Resources 'This guide is designed to direct users to information resources, available on the World Wide Web, which explain or describe the rights of Americans under federal law or under nationally applicable legal principles.
- Infomine US Government Search Engine Somehow I seem not to have visited this site yet.
- Political Data Archives (USA) Gopher site. Data on economic and social indicators, census, arms trade, politics etc.

- US State and Local Government on the Net Many links to state and local government in the USA.
- US States Local Government USA State Government Web and Gopher servers.
- The "Virtual" Medical Law Center A very interesting site, with links to resources in US medical law, plus a great collection of general law links, as well. For example, in the top third of this very long page you'll find a search engine for judicial opinions, legislation, and copyrights/patents. Keep scrolling down and you'll find such gems as international law, world constitutions, links to UN pages, international organizations and much more.

- Elections and Election Systems Results of elections and referendums in various countries, plus some documents on electoral systems.
- Electronic Field Trip to the United Nations Hosted by PBS and Turner Adventure Learning this contains much information and useful links.
- CIA World Factbook Gives an overview of the countries of the world: population, systems of government, economy etc. But of course with an American capitalistic bias.
- Homepage on Strategic Intelligence Hosted by Lyola University, this site includes links to everything, including such international agencies as Mossad and the KCIA. General headings include the U.S. Intelligence Community, Military intelligence, Organized Sites Related to Intelligence, Documents Related to Intelligence, Journal Articles and Papers, and more.
- International Government and Politics Links to various international governmental sources.
- FindLaw This is a well-organized starting point for law resources on the net. Full of interesting looking links to US and international resources.
- Web Sites on National Parliaments. There's a fairly long list of links here, to the homepages of several parliaments, as well as to other interesting sites dealing with parliaments and elections.
